FOX has the game, and have assigned the Stockton - Lynch PBP combo...again. Feels like they have become the designated Lions' broadcasters, for better or worse. Usually worse. Stockton has been showing his age, and Lynch is, well, meh.
Where's Gus Johnson when you really need hmi?
Lions start with the ball, and come out throwing. A long pass to Megatron just misses, as does a throw to the Scheffler...who was OPEN.
Lions 3rd and long, and burn a TO. Not good.
Neither is Stafford's 3rd pass of the game...PICK!

IT'S THE GLOVE! IT'S THE WIND! Hell, I don't know, but that's 5 INTs in 4 quarters for Stafford.
But Cam Newton is pressured....hit by KVB as he throws, and returns the favor on 3rd and long...PICK!

Lions start a new drive, and convert on 3rd and long this time around. But the running game is doing both jack and shit. It's going to take Stafford and his magic glove to move the ball.
3rd and 10...Stafford in the gun...no one open...takes off down the sideline...and is hit by Hardy as he's going out of bounds. That's gotta be a flag! And it is! 15 yards
It's a Kevin Smith sighting! Stafford swings out a pass to Smith out of the backfield, makes a nifty move, and gets thw 1st down at the Panthers' 26.
Stafford takes a shot in the end zone, wants Megatron...TIP DRILL. And it ends badly. PICK.

FUCK. ME. Pick number 6 in the last 5 quarters for Stafford. You have to wonder just how badly the injured finger is affecting Stafford. Could Stafford be pulled? Could the glove be pulled?
Eh, probably not.
Panthers get 29 yards on a 1st down run by Williams. Tack on 21 more on a Newton completion.
This is not good. Not cool, either.
3rd and long, shovel pass to Stewart gets the 1st and more. Panthers in the red zone at the Lions'12. ARRRGH.
Newton looks toward Smith on 3rd down...it's not even close, high and wild. Lions dodge a bullet after the turnover.
Panthers settle for a chip shot from 27 out, and lead 3-0.
My reaction to the Lions start?
But add lots of profanity...
Hoping to change things up in the running game, Logan is in the backfield to start the next drive. A pitch loses 2 yards.
Figures.
Lynch: "Is Stafford's finger a problem?" YA THINK?
Motherfuck! Turnover number 3! Keiland Williams is hit in the backfield, ball pops lose, Panthers recover at the Lions' 29. FUUUUUUCK.
I'm about ready to do this...
Channeling my inner Dawson.
3 possessions, 3 turnovers. That's 5 turnovers in their past 2 1st quarters.
Panthers moving backwards, a hold and their 1st false start move them back 15....but a screen to Stewart gets the 1st down anyway.
0:40 left in the 1st, Panthers in the red zone at the 15...Newton to Smith, TD.

PAT is good, 10-0 Panthers. Some much for home field advantage, Ford Field is a morgue.
The quarter finally ends. The Lions are down 10-0 at home to a 2-7 team, Stafford's throws are as accurate as a political ad and the undefeated Packers are coming to town in 4 days with Nickelback in tow.
Who's ready to panic?
I'm temped to PUSH THE BUTTON...Hard and often.
